Cookies

We respect the privacy of visitors using www.sealdsweet.com (our “website”). This cookie policy provides you with clear and comprehensive information about the cookies we use and the purposes for using them.

(a) What are cookies?

Cookies are files or pieces of information that may be stored on your computer (or other internet enabled devices, such as a smartphone or tablet) when you visit this Website. A cookie will usually contain the name of the website from which the cookie has come from, the “lifetime” of the cookie (i.e. how long the cookie will remain on your device), and a value, which is usually a randomly generated unique number.

Cookies can be used by web servers to identify and track users as they navigate different pages on a website and identify users returning to a website. Cookies do not contain any information that personally identifies you, but personal data that Seald Sweet stores about you may be linked to the information stored in and obtained from cookies. For further information on how your personal data is processed, please view our Privacy Statement [link here].

(b) Key concepts

First and third-party cookies: whether a cookie is ‘first’ or ‘third’ party refers to the domain placing the cookie. First-party cookies are those set by a website that is being visited by the user at the time (e.g. cookies placed by www.sealdsweet.com).

Third-party cookies are cookies that are set by a domain other than that of the website being visited by the user. If a user visits a website and another entity sets a cookie through that website, this would be a third-party cookie.

Persistent cookies: these cookies remain on a user’s device for the period of time specified in the cookie. They are activated each time that the user visits the website that created that particular cookie. They will remain valid until its set expiry date (unless deleted by the user before the expiry date).

Session cookies: these cookies allow website operators to link the actions of a user during a browser session. A browser session starts when a user opens the browser window and finishes when they close the browser window. Session cookies are created temporarily. Once you close the browser, all session cookies are deleted.

The cookies used on our site are categorised as follows:

The relevant third party is responsible for providing you with information regarding the cookies they place and obtaining your consent before placing cookies on your device.
